Live Lounge Music Performance for Charity

Students on our Sixth Form Music Performance pathway raise £264 for Anthony Nolan and MacMillan Cancer Support.

Live Lounge is established as a regular feature in the music calendar at Highcliffe School. As part of the BTEC coursework for the Music Performance pathway students are required to design, plan, promote and manage a live music event. The course aims to set all coursework projects in real-life industry scenarios and the live event is the finale of the two year course. Weeks of planning go into these concerts which take place in May of each year. Our 6th Form musicians audition from the pool of talent in the wider school looking for unplugged and laid back performances that will fit in with the Live Lounge vibe.

This year all proceeds from ticket sales and refreshments were split between Anthony Nolan and MacMillan Cancer Support, both charities that had personal meaning for our 6th Form event organisers. Along with the very talented performances that we enjoyed this year we were also privileged to have Alumni Hangil join the team for the evening taking time out from his music degree at Surrey University.

A big thank you to Emily, Lissi and Max, and to all the performers for making the event such a great success.
